What is FB2?

FB2 (FictionBook 2) is an e-book format built on XML, especially popular in Russia and Eastern Europe. Most e-readers and reading apps there open it, and it keeps a book's structure: title, author, chapters and paragraphs.

This converter takes the DjVu book's hidden text layer, the text recognised when it was scanned, and rebuilds it into paragraphs and chapters. Pictures and the look of the pages stay in the DjVu, and the text is as good as the scan's recognition. Scans without a text layer can't be converted.

For Kindle, Kobo and Apple Books, choose EPUB instead; to edit the text, Word.

Yes. There's no sign-up, watermark or limit, because the conversion runs on your own device instead of our servers.

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your books never leave your device. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.

Most e-readers and reading apps popular in Russia and Eastern Europe do, along with many readers on Android and iPhone. Kindle and Apple Books don't: for them, use EPUB.

Some DjVu books are only pictures of pages, with no text layer. The converter doesn't run OCR (text recognition), so there's no text to convert.

No. Books printed before 1918 keep their spelling (ѣ, і, ъ) exactly as printed.
